Freelensing

Thanks to things like Photoshop or Adobe Illustrator, it has become easy for photographers to rely on these programs to create an image they want, rather than spending more time on the actual subject to create an image.

I found an article a few months ago on Lukeroberts about a new technique called freelensing.

Basically what you do is detach the lens from your camera and hold it against the camera, then you slowly move left to right, or up and down to focus the lens. You only move the lens just a few millimeters in any direction to get this effect:

Freelensing can make effects like tilt-shift, a more macro effect, or give you awesome dust and sun leaks sense the lens is detached from the camera.

I’m really intrigued by this idea, so hopefully this weekend I will try this and post my photos next week!
