Natural State

This past semester I have been focusing my photography on the human form and how people interact with daily life, I have also become with the idea of showing people in their natural state.  I’ve been studying photographers such as Henri Cartier-Bresson and Gary Winnogrand and their candid shots of people. Recently I have discovered an amazing photographer Laura Pannack, most of her work is presented in a social documentary/ portraiture.

Glass” In this series, Pannack puts a piece of glass in front of her subjects and has them close their eyes, she also doesn’t tell them when she is going to take their photograph.

From her series “Young Love” Pannack studies how people interact  in a relationship and how we use relationships to discover ourselves and what we want in a partner.

Laura Pannack ‘s work has a sense of tension and a small sense of darkness to her photographs. She builds a relationship with her subjects which in turn, helps her capture these moments of the true human form and emotion.
